file). These teachers have hitherto been called

Student Teachers and Passed Student Teachers. It will

simplify classification and more correctly represent the facts if they are alike known as Assistant Chinese

Mistresses. Their pay will have to be fixed in accordance with the suggestions (when approved) of the

Salaries Commission. It will be borne in mind

however that for reasons given above these Chinese

Mistresses are somewhat overpaid in relation to

Chinese Masters.
